National Institute of Disaster Restoration
The National Institute of Disaster Restoration (NIDR), a division of ASCR International, is the world's foremost authority and resource on the restoration of residential and commercial property as the result of damage from fire, smoke and other disasters. Our members adhere to code of ethics and stay abreast of the latest technology in the industry. Our members' expertise includes the restoration of valuable contents and structures, in addition to professional cleaning of carpet, rugs, upholstery and window coverings.
Members of NIDR/ASCR stay up-to-date by participating in the association's educational programs and by subscribing to a wide range of technical information. Members of NIDR/ASCR also have quick access to the technical support department, and experienced advisors in restoration and cleaning. These advantages enable members to give their clients the best available service and advice.

The Certified Restorer designation is the Badge of Professional Excellence for the restoration industry. Candidates must attend a week long Certified Restorer School and prepare a formal report on a recent restoration project. In addition to demonstrating professional skills and knowledge, Certified Restorers must provide evidence of a good business reputation and subscribe to the stringent Code of Ethics.
Restoration Industry Association
The Restoration Industry Association , Inc. (RIA) is the leading trade association for cleaning and restoration professionals worldwide, and the foremost authority, trainer and educator in the industry.
RIA is a professional association comprising more than 1,300 member organizations, representing over 20,000 cleaning and restoration professionals who specialize in the cleaning, treatment and repair of damaged buildings and their contents. RIA members share a commitment to professionalism through a strict Code of Ethics. They are also committed to improving industry standards, as well as ongoing technical research, which is conducted by the RIA's technical staff.
Professional development has always been a cornerstone of RIA's mission. Members have access and exposure to the greatest collection of expertise in the business - their fellow members. That knowledge and expertise is shared during the annual convention - Solutions - The Education SummitTM, year-round training classes, specialized schools, and accreditation and certification programs that provide members with opportunities to increase their technical knowledge and facilitate their career growth.
RIA members receive Cleaning & Restoration magazine, the association's monthly technical journal, as well as referrals to consumers and insurance representatives who need quality cleaning and restoration services.
The Restoration Industry Association, Inc. (RIA) is a not-for-profit international trade association, tax exempt under provisions of Sec. 501 (c)(6) of the IRS Code. RIA was originally formed in 1946 and was recognized in Maryland in 2000. Its principal office is located in Millersville, Maryland. It does business under the name RIA International. Donations do not qualify as personal deductions but do generally qualify as business deductions.
Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification
The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has served as the Industry Guardian for the cleaning, inspection and restoration service industries for more than 30 years. As a non-profit certification organization, the IICRC helps ensure that you have access to trusted and trained cleaning professionals by establishing and monitoring certification programs and standards for these industries.
To qualify for IICRC-Certified Firm status businesses must demonstrate proof of insurance, maintain a written customer complaint policy with documented follow-up and provide ongoing education and training leading to certification for all technicians. IICRC Certified Firms are also required to abide by the IICRC Code of Ethics. Services provided by IICRC-Certified professionals range from flooring inspection and cleaning to mold remediation to water and fire damage restoration.

The Water Loss Institute (WLI), a division of ASCR International, is the world's foremost authority and resource on the restoration of residential and commercial property as a result of water and sewage damage. members of WLI/ASCR adhere to its high code of ethics and stays abreast of the latest technology and expertise in the industry. Members stay up-to-date by participating in the association's educational programs and by subscribing to its wide range of technical publications. Members of WLI/ASCR also have quick access to its full-time technical support department, ready to assist members in solving today's most sophisticated and challenging problems. These advantages enable members of WLI/ASCR to give their customers the best available service, value and advice.
